Violation of WP:NFCCP#3a - "Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information". This is one of two non-free files of the same individual used on Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Thero (the other being File:Agga Maha Pandita Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Thera.jpg). This has been discussed at WP:NFCR where non-involved editors deemed it inappropriate to have two non-free images. obi2canibe^{talk contr} 11:40, 19 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Thero was a leading personality of Theravada Buddhism in the twentieth century, who wrote many books on Buddhism, meditation and languages. Some of his books are considered as text books for students. This rare photograph which was taken while he was involved in literary work increases the value of the section 'Survey of writings' in the article. This file does not violate WP:NFCCP#3a, bacause it is used to illustrate Thero's literary works, an aspect which is not covered by the other item. --SWR2.9 (talk) 04:26, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This non-free file has been added to three biographical articles (Sarath Fonseka, Denzil Kobbekaduwa and Vijaya Wimalaratne) all of which have other free or non-free files to illustrate the individual. It is an important pic, (perhaps more informative than the written content) depicting the Vadamarachi Operation and prominent Commanders that contibuted to the sovereignity of Sri Lanka and end separatist terrorism. It should not be deleted. Obi2canibie's history shows his interest is mostly about the Sri Lankan Tamil community comprising about a quarter of the population of SL, as such can be biased.
